Assessment

The process starts with a detailed affordability assessment. Your income, reasonable household expenses and credit obligations are considered together.

Formal steps

If you are found over-indebted and proceed, prescribed notices and proposals form part of the regulated process. Court or tribunal steps may also apply.

During the plan

You must maintain the agreed payment, keep your contact details current and report material changes promptly. Keep proof of every payment and communication.

What to do next

If debt repayments no longer fit after reasonable household expenses, gather accurate statements and request a confidential assessment. Asking for information does not automatically place you under debt review.
